Michael Barczay is a research associate and teaching assistant at the Study Center Gerzensee. He is also a PhD candidate in Economics at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. His research focuses on macroeconomics and public finance, in particular on the optimal design of tax systems and fiscal policies. Before joining the EUI and the Study Center Gerzensee, he completed a master’s degree at the Barcelona School of Economics and worked as an intern at the Swiss National Bank.
